TESTIMONIALS

Cody Petree, Director of Community & Business Development, City of Roanoke

“…I would like to share my positive experience with Steele & Freeman, who was our Construction Manager-at-Risk on three projects, starting in 2004 with our new 32,000 sqft Roanoke Recreation Center, then in 2007 with our new 15,000 sqft Fire Station #1, and most recently a 23,000 sqft Addition/Renovation for our Library and Community Center that completed in 2012.
For all projects they did an outstanding job with the pre-construction phase especially the budgeting and scheduling. The GMP was within our budget on all these projects. Their cost control during construction allowed us to spend contingency money on additional scope, and all the projects finished within budget and on schedule. On each project they had personnel who took care of us before, during, and after construction. They were proactive on the warranty items we had, and they took care of issues after the warranty period…”

Rev. Ben Disney, Arborlawn United Methodist Church

“Our congregation recently celebrated the completion of the Elizabeth Cramer Chapel on the campus of Arborlawn United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. From the initial conceptual conversations to the construction management and ongoing communication; the entire process was on time, on budget and a positive experience overall. Steele and Freeman went out of their way multiple times to accommodate our schedule of special events, concerts, services, weddings and funerals during the construction phase. We were very pleased with the partnership and happy to recommend Steele and Freeman for your building and construction needs.”

Frank Molinar, Superintendent of Schools, White Settlement Independent School District

“White Settlement Independent School District has hired Steele & Freeman for many projects. We have had a relationship with them for more than ten years and our experience with them has been excellent. They have built high-quality projects for us that completed on schedule and within budget. We would like to share our positive experiences. We have been very happy with their work. We have hired them as Construction Manager-at-Risk for (most of) these projects. They are a firm with Integrity, and we trust them to do the right thing. They go the extra mile for us in their work. They have made the safety of our students and staff their top priority at all times.
We've worked with their different staff, including Project Managers and Superintendents, and all of them have been top-notch. Their top management Is Involved in their projects. There have been other firms we've worked with, but the thing that we think stands out the most about Steele & Freeman is their personal attention. We know they're a phone call away if anything comes up, and they stand behind their work. I'm sure you'll have a great experience with Steele & Freeman.”

Lamar McDonald, Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford Architects

“We like working with your firm on CMAR projects because you always produce detailed, accurate budget estimates and an accurate GMP. With a lot of contractors, they budget, budget, budget, then they come out at the end of the project with too much money, which we could have done better things with the design if their budgets had been more accurate. You have a reputation for accurate estimates, and for finishing the project within budget without leaving too much money on the table.”

Jim Hanophy, Former Chief Executive Officer, Operation Kindness

“... We want to thank our construction company, which may sound odd because people don’t normally thank their construction company before the start of construction, but the Steele and Freeman group has been with us from the start. They are our Construction Manager-at-Risk, which means that through all the drawings and all the designs and all of the debates and all of the meetings, they have been with us. They have provided us with detailed information on costs and expenditures. They have been our problem solvers. They have been really an exceptional company to work with, and they haven’t been paid a penny yet. It’s just the type of company they are. They wanted to make sure we had things lined up properly..."

Hudson Huff, Director of Construction Services, Keller Independent School District

“Keller ISD has a long relationship with Steele & Freeman, from our first mutual projects in 1998 until the present. Quite often they have completed multiple school projects for us in the course of a year, both new and addition/ renovation work. They have built projects with a value of over $430 million to date, and all are Construction Manager-at-Risk projects. They have completed projects for us with very tight schedules, finishing every project on time. They have completed each project within our budget. We rely on their rigorous budgeting so the information we report to the Administration and taxpayers is accurate.”

Alf Bumgardner, AIA, LEED AP, City of Arlington Public Works & Transportation

“…I have found that Steele & Freeman is a company that stands behind their word, and work. The projects I have worked with them on have been done in a timely manner with quality construction.
Steele & Freeman's company and staff have a great reputation in the industry, and my experience with them has shown they are a company that is focused on customer service. The projects I have worked on with them, and my knowledge of other projects they have been involved with has finished on or before the completion date, and they have finished within the owner's budget… In addition to following the plans, and standing behind their work, SFI has taken care of us on issues that weren't warranty issues, but things that came up well after the warranty period was over and they took care of it right away at no charge.
Overall, my experience with SFI has been very positive, and I would be happy to work with them on future projects.”
