CULTURE

At Steele & Freeman, our culture is built on our core values and a commitment to serve clients with a Can-Do Spirit. We work collaboratively with clients, architects, and each other to deliver first-class projects and a rewarding experience for every team member.

In 2017, we formally defined our professional values – not as a marketing statement, but to ensure the principles guiding our work were clearly understood and consistently practiced throughout the company. Through this process, we discovered that our culture could not be captured in a few simple words. Instead, it is shaped by a comprehensive set of behaviors and beliefs that influence every decision, interaction, and project we take on.

Through multiple collaborative work sessions, leaders from across the company defined the behaviors and practices that make Steele & Freeman unique. Today, we call these 23 fundamentals The Steele & Freeman Way. They reflect how we relate to clients, partners, vendors, and one another, and they serve as the foundation of our extraordinary success. For example, Fundamental #1 is “Sacrifice Everything for Safety.”

Our culture has also been recognized externally. Steele & Freeman was named the #1 Best Company to Work For in Fort Worth in 2025 by Fort Worth Inc. and has been honored as a Best Company to Work For for eight consecutive years. These accolades, alongside multiple exemplary construction awards from TEXO and AGC Texas Building Branch, reflect our commitment to people, safety, quality, and teamwork.

We are always looking for talented professionals to join our team. Steele & Freeman is currently accepting resumes for Project Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers with commercial construction experience.
