City of Midlothian’s Beam Signing

Check out some of the awesome photos captured at the City of Midlothian, Texas – City Hall – Government‘s Beam Signing Ceremony earlier this month! 🏗️✍🏼 Six of the past eight Midlothian mayors stood with current Mayor Justin Coffman to sign the last beam to be placed for Midlothian’s new City Hall and first Public Library. As Mayor Coffman said, “It is on the shoulders of our former leaders that we stand here today, making history together.” Steele & Freeman is incredibly proud to be a part of this project that will serve many generations to come.

Union Gospel Mission Community Outreach Center

After months of hard work and dedication from every team member, we were excited to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Union Gospel Mission Community Outreach Center earlier this month! The new 27,260 facility will help individuals transition out of poverty to create a pathway to economic mobility by providing them with job training and life skills necessary to secure livable-wage employment and a greater quality of life. We are proud to partner with Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County and look forward to seeing the impact of their work through this facility as they continue to serve our community.

Do The Right Thing, Always.

One of Steele & Freeman’s core Fundamentals is Do The Right Thing, Always. In a world where acts of kindness often go unnoticed, there are individuals who shine as beacons of compassion and selflessness. Carpenter Ricky was recognized by the Blue Mound Police Department for going above and beyond for their community, helping a citizen in need. His act of kindness was pivotal in the assistance of a local family and for his actions, Blue Mound PD recognized his actions by awarding him a special challenge coin. Ricky is an excellent example of being dedicated to his job while also demonstrating an unwavering commitment to do the right thing in every situation. His actions remind us of incredible power we all possess to spread kindness and make an impact on the communities around us.

At our Ennis Public Safety Facility, Project Manager Nathan reports that in-wall blocking is complete with inspections for in-wall electrical and plumbing as the next step. After that, sheetrock will be installed. With this, the interior of the building is taking shape. One question – Who will be the first to get lost now that there are walls?!

Project Update: Argyle High School

Special thank you to Superintendent Sam and Project Manager Nathan for this update! We are currently installing grade beams on the new administration area and they are 95% complete. We are wrapping up the grease trap which will be tied in soon and preparing to pour the first slab in the first week of January (see photo). This slab will be for the auditorium including the lower seating and back stage. The piers for the classroom addition, new field house and gymnasium are complete and foundation beams will start at the end of January.

SFI Delivers Legendary Service

We strive to deliver legendary service on every project. On a recent school project we were approached about how to build a homecoming float. Rather than merely offering advice, Superintendent Javier and Carpenter Eustaquio took the time to build the float so it would be safe for the students to ride on. Javier and Eustaquio were excited to receive a card and cake as a thank you. #ThisIsWhyWeBuild #SacrificeEverythingForSafety

Space Improvements for Local Schools

Did you know that kids don’t use lockers at school these days? Check out the improved use of this space that is better suited for today’s teens. As part of a large, multi-phased renovation project at a local school, our team is removing lockers throughout the facility and replacing them with benches so kids can have a place to sit and visit.

June W. Davis Elementary School Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Ribbon cuttings for our projects are always exciting. Today we had an especially meaningful and emotional ribbon cutting at Crowley ISD’s new June W. Davis Elementary School. Words like pioneer, trailblazer and legend are used to describe June W. Davis. It is obvious she is a powerhouse not only in the Crowley community, but in Tarrant County. We were honored to build this school that bears her name and honors her phenomenal legacy. The first day of school is Thursday!!
