We are proud to announce that Steele & Freeman has been selected to build Fire Station #3 for the City of Haltom City. This new $5.5M, 14,000 SF facility was designed by RPGA Design Group, Inc. It will be located at the northeast corner of Old Denton Rd. and Northern Cross Blvd.
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a $73M project to construct three new facilities for our current client, Crowley ISD – a 40,000 SF aquatics center, an 8,000-seat district-wide football stadium,and a new 50,000 SF administration building! We are proud to continue our work with the district and VLK Architects, Inc.
Our project team had a very busy week last week. They took advantage of the dry weather and poured 890 yards of concrete which was brought in on 100 trucks over the course of 13 hours! Special thank you to our sub, Miller Sierra Contractors for their work on the concrete.
Did you know that kids don’t use lockers at school these days? Check out the improved use of this space that is better suited for today’s teens. As part of a large, multi-phased renovation project at a local school, our team is removing lockers throughout the facility and replacing them with benches so kids can have a place to sit and visit.
Superintendent Luke shared this photo and update of his Town of Flower Mound Library Expansion. Our team is currently waterproofing in preparation for the upcoming masonry work. We are proud to work in collaboration with Komatsu Architecture on this project!
Steele & Freeman was proud to sponsor Ruffolution this weekend which was an event put on by NAWIC South Central Region. Proceeds benefit NAWIC Fort Worth Chapter #1 Foundation, Inc. providing scholarships for students in construction-related degree and apprenticeship programs. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to Straydog, a no-kill shelter.

We are currently in pre-construction with our Joint Venture Partner Post L Group Drywall & Acoustical Ceilings on an extensive renovation and addition project for Fort Worth ISD at South Hills High School in South Fort Worth. This $39.9 M project will provide new science classrooms, labs and other instructional spaces. Common spaces will be renovated to provide an ideal space for student interaction and collaboration. Our new Midlothian Fire Station #1 is progressing. We are pouring grade beams and preparing to pour the fire lane next week. Yes, even fire stations have fire lanes! Thank you to Mason and Reilly for this project update.
We had a full house today at our headquarters office. The conference was full of subcontractors interested in bidding on our City of Grapevine Animal Shelter project! The more subs that bid, the more competitive the pricing for our clients. We work hard to market our projects to quality subcontractors. Thank you to everyone that came out today!
Ribbon cuttings for our projects are always exciting. Today we had an especially meaningful and emotional ribbon cutting at Crowley ISD’s new June W. Davis Elementary School. Words like pioneer, trailblazer and legend are used to describe June W. Davis. It is obvious she is a powerhouse not only in the Crowley community, but in Tarrant County. We were honored to build this school that bears her name and honors her phenomenal legacy. The first day of school is Thursday!!

We sacrifice everything for safety! We are conducting safety stand down sessions for National Safety Stand Down Day at all of our sites in effort to prevent falls. Here are a few photos of our Stand Down at our 150,000 SF $70M state-of-the-art Crowley ISD Collegiate High School and CTE project.
We had 95 subcontractors in attendance. We shut the job down and met with everyone to discuss preventing falls on site.
The meeting was led Senior Superintendent Eddie, Superintendent Jeremy, Assistant Superintendent Antonio. Senior PM Jared and General Superintendent Tim also participated. Thank you to Associate Project Manager Justin who assisted with the Stand Down and shared these photos!

The Can-Do Crew was out in force at the grand opening of our Roanoke City Hall project on Saturday. This extraordinary building was designed by RGA Architects and was a labor of love for every person that worked on it. The building is chock full of stunning custom finishes such as the mahogany wood panels, cast stone details, hand chiseled masonry corners, wrought iron stair rails, atrium skylight and clock tower. The City of Roanoke had high praises for our project team and RGA Architects. It was such an honor to lead the construction of this beautiful building.

Another beautiful picture from our Roanoke City Hall project featuring the lobby by the second floor balcony, located right next to the mayor’s office. This picture highlights even more of the high-end details in the new city hall such as the skylight, terrazzo floors, arched Venetian plaster ceiling and mahogany framework.
The new Roanoke City Hall features masonry details carefully hand-chiseled corners to give it the look of an older Hill Country style courthouse. We are pleased to announce we are working on a pair of new projects with the City of Grapevine – the Animal Shelter & Adoption Center and the Grapevine Golf Clubhouse. The 8,100 SF animal shelter is designed by Quorum Architects and has a budget of $3.3M. The Golf Clubhouse also has a budget of $3.3M and is designed by Thiel and Thiel, Inc. These are our first projects with the City of Grapevine.
We were recently awarded a project with Argyle ISD for phase II of their high school. Corgan is the architect on the $49M project. This is our first time to work with Argyle ISD. We will post graphics when they are available.

Congratulations to our client, Operation Kindness, on the ground breaking of their expansion last month! We are honored to collaborate with Operation Kindness – the state’s largest no-kill animal shelter and their architect, Shelter Planners of America on this project.
Great things are happening out at our Roanoke City Hall project site. This is the water feature located at the front of the building. Work on the pergola will begin next week over the sidewalk on the outer perimeter. Thanks to our assistant superintendent, Mason who is leading construction of the plaza for sharing this photo!
For those of you that drive on 377 in Roanoke, you may have noticed the new cupola on the roof of our City Hall project there. We recently placed the beautiful cupola with a crane. This is going to be a beautiful building and it is all coming together on schedule, of course. Congratulations to Keller ISD on the dedication of their latest middle school, Vista Ridge off Thompson Road which we delivered four months early. This is our latest of several projects for Keller ISD. VLK Architects, Inc. was responsible for its innovative design. Our construction team was recognized at the ceremony with a very loud applause by school staff and faculty. Accolades continued in the event program where our team was praised “for their unbelievable customer service.” The school is 160,000 SF with more than 40 classrooms plus special science labs and art rooms with courtyard access. The cafetorium features seating for 800. The project also included a road connecting I-35 access to Thompson Road and runs right in front of the school.
